Google Analytics
The use case of Google Analytics in terms of cookie policy can fall either into 1) strictly necessary cookies; or 2) analytics cookies category. This depends on the use case of Google Analytics. TalentAdore uses by default Google Analytics in anonymised mode to monitor conversion of page views to opened application forms and submitted applications and for traffic source analytics. This data is used to develop TalentAdore services and for performance optimisation purposes.
Google Analytics does not store personally identifiable information (PII) such as name, email, address or GPS location. Google Analytics uses Client ID which is based on an anonymised IP address and cryptography to track the browser. According to EU Directive 2002/58/EC section 25: “However, such devices, for instance so-called "cookies", can be a legitimate and useful tool, for example, in analysing the effectiveness of website design and advertising, and in verifying the identity of users engaged in on-line transactions. Where such devices, for instance cookies, are intended for a legitimate purpose, such as to facilitate the provision of information society services, their use should be allowed on condition that users are provided with clear and precise information in accordance with Directive 95/46/EC about the purposes of cookies or similar devices so as to ensure that users are made aware of information being placed on the terminal equipment they are using”
The website ats.talentadore.com uses anonymised Client ID in “_ga” cookie for lawful statistical and optimisation purposes. This data is strictly necessary for development of TalentAdore services; the vast majority of traffic TalentAdore receives is from job applications and understanding this traffic and performance metrics related to it is essential for TalentAdore’s business. In this case using Google Analytics cookies can be justified in terms of legitimate interest.
